Two men arrested over 'explosive substances'

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of making explosive substances for unlawful purpose.

Officers received reports of "suspicious activity" at a property in Breedon Drive, Lincoln, on Friday evening.

Military personnel and police remain were expected to remain at the scene for some time, said Lincolnshire Police.

The men, aged 30 and 46, remain in custody, the force said.

In a Facebook post, police said they did not believe there "to be any risk to the public".

"We know that such a busy policing and military presence might be concerning, and we wanted to let you know what’s happening so you are not unduly concerned," it said.
