Man arrested after woman hit by car outside pub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was hit by a car in a pub car park.
Police were called to multiple reports of a vehicle being driven at people in the car park of The Cock Beck pub on Pendas Way, Crossgates, Leeds, just before midnight on Friday.
A woman in her 50s who was taken to hospital with injuries described as significant but not life-threatening. No-one else was hurt in the incident.
A 26-year-old driver of a Toyota RAV4 was involved in a second collision about 20 minutes later, and was then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, driving whilst disqualified and possession of class B drugs.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to the second collision at 00:17 GMT at the junction of Selby Road and York Road, Leeds, involving a RAV4 and a Toyota Prius.
'Vehicle as weapon'
They established the RAV4 was the same car which had been reported to have been involved in the incident at the Cock Beck.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The people in the Prius were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.
Det Insp Daniel Ridgway said: "The victim has been seriously injured in what appears to be the deliberate use of a vehicle as a weapon and we have extensive enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.
"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses at the scenes of both the initial incident on Pendas Way and the subsequent collision at the junction of Selby Road and York Road, but I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to us to come forward."
He asked people in the area to check their CCTV or dashcam footage to see if they had captured anything relevant to the investigation.
