A man has died after getting into difficulty at sea while on a jet ski, police have said.

Sussex Police and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) responded to a report of a jet skier in difficulty in the sea, near Rottingdean, at about 13:45 BST on Friday.

A 41-year-old man from Brighton was brought to shore where he received medical attention, Sussex Police said.

He was later pronounced dead at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

The coroner has been informed and the matter has not been deemed suspicious, the force added.
