Parts of Briantspuddle, Bridport, Gillingham, Milborne St Andrew, Pymore, St Leonards and St Ives and Winterborne Whitechurch are also included in the plans.

Critics on local social media pages have called the schemes an "unnecessary expense" and part of an "anti-car agenda".

Dorset Green councillor for Lyme Regis and Charmouth, Belinda Bawden, said: "The aim is to make the town more pedestrian-friendly, calmer and safer for everyone."
