A large quantity of cannabis plants were discovered at a house in Nottingham city centre during a police visit.

Officers were initially called to reports of a burglary at a property in Brook Street at about 03:15 BST on Wednesday.

While no intruders were located, it became apparent the house was used to grow cannabis when lines of plants were found across three different rooms, and cuts of cannabis were seen in the kitchen, police said.

More than 300 cannabis plants were found in total, the force added, with the house's electricity bypassed to power the grow.
