A former police officer has been charged with misconduct in public office and computer misuse.

Nicholas Fielding-Smith, who was a PC with Thames Valley Police based in Berkshire, has been charged following allegations he formed relationships with three members of the public whilst serving.

It is also alleged he accessed a police computer system without a legitimate policing purpose.

The 42-year-old has been charged with three counts of misconduct in public office and one count of unauthorised access to data.

He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday.
