Five people arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a Latvian man have been released on bail.

Maris Ile, 54, was last seen leaving his home in King's Lynn, Norfolk, four months ago, with police believing he had come to harm.

Four men and a woman were arrested at addresses in Kings Lynn, Norwich and Peterborough on Tuesday and were questioned by police.

All five have been released on police bail until 11 June, Norfolk Police has said.

Mr Ile was a seasonal worker in Ely and was in regular contact with his family in Latvia, police said.

He did not arrive at work after setting off from home on 20 November, and was reported missing three days later.

Police said officers were following numerous inquiries and gathering evidence, and had taken the "unusual step" of launching a murder investigation, despite not having found a body.

They confirmed a forensic search of a house in St Mildreds Road in west Earlham, Norwich, on Tuesday, was linked to their inquiries.
