Road closed after debris falls on to carriageway

The council said debris from the embankment fell on to the road

A road has been closed "until further notice" after a collapsed embankment caused debris to spill on to the carriageway.
Nottinghamshire County Council said the A6075 in Kirton, near Newark, was shut on Friday and diversions put in place.
Rockfall uprooted a tree, but debris has been cleared, and the site continues to be under a cordon for inspectors to examine the site, the council said.
The site "will be monitored over the weekend in case of further slippage", with temporary traffic management in place until the area is secured.
"The road will remain fully closed until further notice, with a suitable diversion route being identified for through traffic," it said.
