A man tried to import a child sex doll into the UK from Hong Kong despite having been arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offences.

In 2020, West Yorkshire Police found 6,000 indecent images of children and sexualised conversations with children on Keith Marsh's devices.

The force said following his arrest they received further intelligence he had attempted to import the item while under investigation.

Marsh, 62, of Caister Grove in Keighley, near Bradford, was sentenced to three years and six months in jail on Friday after he was found guilty of 12 offences in a trial.

Marsh was convicted of possession a prohibited image of a child; possession of an extreme pornographic image; distribute an indecent photo of a child; improper importation of indecent article; and eight charges of making an indecent photo of a child.

In addition to his jail term, he was also made to sign the sex offenders register for life and given a sexual harm prevention order for life.

Det Con Adam Flaxington said: "We hope this sentence will serve as a warning to others that offences of this nature are taken very seriously within West Yorkshire."

He added: "Anyone caught facilitating the abuse of children or looking at indecent images of anyone under the age of 18 will not only be put on the sex offenders register but can expect to face consequences which may impact significantly on their life."
