A teenager has been injured after being knocked from a suspected stolen motorbike.

Hertfordshire Police said it been following the bike on Sunday after it failed to stop while driving along the A1 in Borehamwood.

Officers used what they described as "tactical contact" to bring the bike to a halt at 16:50 BST in Norfolk Gardens, resulting in minor injuries to the 18-year-old woman riding it.

She was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and driving with no licence or insurance.

She was released from her arrest to allow for hospital treatment, pending further inquiries.

The force added that the incident did not reach the threshold to refer to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
