Fire crews battle town centre flat fire

Fire crews are battling a fire in a town centre block of flats.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to Copper Street in Dorchester, Dorset, at 18:43 BST.

The fire service said crews from Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport and Wareham, along with a crew and the aerial ladder platform from Yeovil, attended.

The fire is close to the Brewery Square shopping complex and the surrounding properties have been evacuated as a precaution.

At 20:45, the fire service said more crews had joined and there were 13 appliances in attendance.
