Former pub The Mill is set to become a dental surgery

  • Published

Plans to turn a former pub in Brimington into a dental surgery have been given the green light.

Chesterfield Borough Council has approved a planning application to convert The Mill in Station Road in proposals which would see the Brimington Dental Surgery relocate from its existing site in Bradley Way.

According to planning documents, the move is to allow the surgery to double staffing and the number of patient appointments it offers.

The documents stated the site of the former pub had "fallen into a state of disrepair" and the proposed dental surgery would provide "important health benefits" to the local community.

The new practice is expected to have eight surgery rooms and employ about 30 members of staff.

Documents also stated the parking arrangements at the existing site had caused "problems" previously and the proposed site would offer improved parking and access.
