Brighton station becomes 'Frighton' for Halloween
- Published
Commuters in East Sussex had a spooky surprise on Thursday morning as they boarded trains to and from 'Frighton' station.
Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) changed Brighton station to 'Frighton' on destination boards to mark Halloween.
Travellers were also greeted with special announcements from comedian and impressionist Luke Kempner, including a Lord of the Rings-inspired "this Halloween shall not pass without a valid ticket".
Mr Kempner said: "I hope these impressions provide everyone with a fun, spooky surprise."
Stephen MacCallaugh, head of stations at GTR, said there had been "great interaction" previously with Halloween-themed surprises.
"‘Frighton’ was popular amongst customers, so we’ve decided to bring it to destination boards again, with the addition of spook-tacular special announcements at Brighton station," he said.
