An appeal for information has been launched by police after a child was bitten by a dog in Worcestershire.

The child, aged nine, was visiting Costa Coffee on Crossley Retail Park, Kidderminster at about 14:00 GMT on 2 November when the incident happened.

West Mercia Police said he was bitten by a "Border Collie type dog" with "black and white colouring". He sustained minor injuries to his face.

PC Natasha Hadley said: "We are keen to identify the owner, as we believe the dog may be dangerous."

She added: "We would urge anyone who was in Costa Coffee during the incident or anyone who may have information about who the owner is to please get in touch."
