Attempted murder arrest over street assault

Police say the assault took place on Waterloo Street, Coventry on Tuesday

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a person was left with life-threatening injuries during a street attack in Coventry.
The victim was assaulted in Waterloo Street at about 04:00 GMT on Tuesday, before his assailant left in a blue electric car, West Midlands Police said.
The man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital after sustaining serious head injuries during the attack.
Detectives have since arrested the suspect, who remains in custody.
