A crime scene remains in place in Duckett Street after a woman was murdered

A woman has been stabbed to death in east London.

Officers were called at around 01:17 BST on Sunday to reports of a woman who had been attacked at an address in Duckett Street in Tower Hamlets.

The victim, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and 37-year-old man has been held on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody.

Crime scene in place

Acting Det Ch Insp Ben Dalloway called the incident "tragic" and said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"Those involved appear to be known to each other and were present at the address during the course of the evening," he said.
