A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after an eight-year-old girl and her father were seriously injured in a shooting in west London.

Jazz Reid, 32, of Kensington in west London, was also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Both victims were taken to hospital with "serious gunshot injuries" following the shooting into a car on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove at about 17:30 GMT on Sunday.

The girl's two-year-old sibling and mother, 32, were also in the car but were unharmed, the Metropolitan Police said.

Scotland Yard has said the 34-year-old man has potentially life-changing injuries while his daughter's condition is "not life-changing". They both remain in hospital.

Officers previously thanked the public for coming to the aid of the pair but are still urging witnesses to come forward.

On Monday, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed to a date in early February pending further inquiries.
