Police seize £55k worth of vapes, tobacco and alcohol

Five men have been arrested and £55,000 worth of suspected illicit vapes, tobacco and alcohol were seized after a series of warrants.

The raids took place on Tuesday morning in the Broadgreen area of Swindon.

Three shops and a property on Manchester Road were raided by Wiltshire Police working with HMRC and Trading Standards.

The men were arrested on suspicion of breaching the Trade Marks Act 1994 and were taken into custody for questioning.

Sergeant Winter, from Wiltshire Police said: “There are strict limits on what vapes can contain in order to keep the public safe. Some of the ones we seized vastly exceeded the restrictions.

“This was a highly successful morning involving excellent multi-agency work" he added.
