Road reopens after 12-hour closure for oil spill
- Published
A major road has reopened after more than 12 hours following an oil spill.
Longthorpe Parkway in Peterborough between Thorpe Wood roundabout and the city centre exit was closed on Sunday at about 19:00 BST.
Peterborough City Council said the closure was due to a road accident which resulted in a spillage of diesel and oil, making the road "too slippery".
Motorists were asked to avoid the area while the the spillage was cleared.
