One in hospital after electrical substation fire

One person is in hospital after a fire at a high-voltage electrical substation in Huddersfield, the fire service said.

The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering burns in the fire on Market Street at around 20:30 GMT on Saturday.

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews worked with West Yorkshire Police and Northern Powergrid as they tackled the fire.

It said two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the blaze. Northern Powergrid has been contacted for comment.
