Cyclist badly hurt in collision with van near Logierieve

A cyclist has been badly injured in a collision with a van in Aberdeenshire.
The accident, involving a white Peugeot Partner van, happened on the B9000 Pitmedden to Newburgh Road near Logierieve at about 12:30 on Wednesday.
The 51-year-old male cyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as "serious".
The road was closed for about six hours to allow accident investigations to be carried out.
There were no other reports of injuries.
Sgt Eoin Maxwell said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to contact us, external.
"I would also ask anyone with any dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch."
The Scottish Ambulance Service said an ambulance, a rapid response unit and a trauma team had been sent to the scene.
