Man, 82, dies after car hits lamp-post

An 82-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle crash on the A16 in North East Lincolnshire.

Humberside Police said officers were called to reports of a Citroen leaving the road and hitting a lamp-post. It happened between New Waltham and Scartho, shortly after 13:00 GMT.

The man, who was driving, died at the scene. An 80-year-old woman, a passenger in the car, was treated for minor injuries.

Specially trained officers were supporting the man's family, a spokesperson for the force added.
