Grampian Housing Association has said the regeneration of the former Victoria Road school in the Torry area of Aberdeen is no longer feasible.

It said that due to a significant reduction in the total Affordable Housing Grant, no grant funding could be allocated to the project.

It was hoped about 50 affordable homes would be built at the site, which has lain empty since 2008. Plans were approved by the city council in 2022.

Grampian Housing Association said the cost of the regeneration project was significantly above that normally expected to deliver new-build social properties.
