A man who died in Newry on Tuesday after being knocked down by a bus has been named as Dominic McGrath.

Police received a report of the incident in the Mall area of the city shortly before 16:40 GMT.

Mr McGrath, who was 33, died at the scene.

The police have warned against anyone circulating images of the crash scene online.

"The sharing of these images is causing additional and unnecessary distress to those suffering in the wake of this tragic incident," said Insp Cherith Adair.

"I ask that people do not add to the pain of those affected by continuing to view or share these images."

The PSNI are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to get in touch.
