Health minister vows action on hospital pharmacy

Jersey's health minister has promised to take action on a number of recommendations made after a review of the General Hospital Pharmacy.
The review by senior UK pharmacists made 54 short, medium and long-term recommendations on the department's culture, workforce, workload, education and training.
It found staff felt their concerns would be "dismissed" while some feared being "punished" for being off sick or having "confidential information" shared with colleagues.
Deputy Tom Binet said he was "aware there were some misgivings" and the government was going through the recommendations "systematically and progressively".
"I can't pretend I wasn't aware there were some misgivings there and that can be said for a number of different departments," he said.
"What we can take away from this is some comfort knowing that we are going through it systematically and progressively."
'Verbal assurance'
He said the government was "putting it straight" and there would be action "in the coming months".
"I can only offer verbal assurance in saying that I shall do my best to oversee these things and make sure they are actually done," he said.
"A little bit of patience is required and hopefully we will see that in the actions that take place in the coming months."
