Police teams on patrol in Wolverhampton neighbourhoods say they have made several arrests, seized an uninsured off-road bike and recovered a stolen van.

A man wanted on recall to prison was arrested after he was spotted in Bilston with a stolen van found in the East Park area.

After calls from the community in Wednesfield and Heath Town about people nuisance and off-road bikes in a street and on a local field, police seized a bike which had no insurance, the force said.

A man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and another was arrested and charged with robbery by Ettingshall, Blakenhall and Spring Vale police officers.

Officers have been visiting local shops and talking to customers about keeping purses safe and giving out purse bells, which can help as a deterrent to anyone tampering with belongings.

Linking up with partner teams, police have visited addresses about anti-social behaviour, as well as remanding a man for various shop thefts in and around the area of Cannock Road over the past few weeks.
