Move to resurrect resort's £300m regeneration

The plans include a 200-bedroom hotel, a flying theatre and two indoor theme parks

A stalled £300m regeneration project for Blackpool is back on the table after efforts to find an investor for the project were restarted.
The Blackpool Central Development, a proposed leisure complex near the Golden Mile, includes a 200-bedroom hotel, a flying theatre, two indoor theme parks, a public square and bars and restaurants.
It was previously overseen by developer Nikal Ltd but the firm filed for administration last year.
Blackpool Council has since begun a tender exercise for a property marketing agent to help find new international investors for the 10-acre site.
It comes as work to demolish the old police headquarters and courthouse on the development site has now been completed.
Blackpool's Conservative leader Paul Galley said he believes local residents should have more of a say in the development.
Galley said many have told him the site should be a conference centre or an entertainment centre that shows concerts.
He said: "They're not getting a look in and it's going to be played out in the same way it always is in Blackpool, where the council will pay some very expensive experts to come in and tell them what's right for Blackpool rather than listen to the people of the town.
"It's so frustrating."
Blackpool Council has been contacted by the BBC for a response.
