A free seafront airshow is to return next year after meeting its "cost neutral target", organisers have said.

Eastbourne International Airshow, known as Airbourne, will be back for its 31st year from 14 – 17 August 2025.

Eastbourne Borough Council had previously said it might not run the event again if it did not raise enough funds.

Council leader Stephen Holt said he was "delighted" the "popular and important event" could go ahead.

A statement said: "In 2025 we'll need to ensure the event can run on a cost neutral basis once again."

It thanked "all those who donated, sponsored, volunteered or financially supported Airbourne in 2024".

Airbourne attracts large crowds along the two-mile flying display line on the town's seafront.

The event - which was first held in 1993 - was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

In 2025 it will feature four days of flying displays, military exhibitions, ground attractions, children's entertainment, fireworks and tribute shows.
