A man who stabbed a father in front of his children has been sentenced.
Nottinghamshire Police said Dearnie Jones, 19, was among a group of youths who were following the victim's son at Marmion Park in Mapperley on 27 October.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was contacted by his son at about 18:30 GMT and arrived nearby to pick him up, when he was targeted and cornered by Jones, who stabbed him in the stomach.
The teenager was sentenced to nine years in a young offender institution at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.
Police said the youths were trying to steal the son's electric bike before the victim arrived with his other children.
He drove to Beecham Avenue, where he found Jones wearing a mask while holding a large knife and threatening several people, the force added.
After being stabbed, the father got back into his car and drove to a supermarket car park in Carlton Road.
He required emergency surgery and was in a coma for a week.

Jones was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday
Detectives identified Jones, of Ruddington Lane in Nottingham, and he was arrested following what the force described as a "manhunt".
He was subsequently convicted of wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place on 6 June following a trial.
Det Con Charlotte Webster said: "What happened that evening is yet another example of how the presence of a knife can instantly lead to an escalation of any incident.
"Despite the presence of a number of onlookers, including children, Jones brandished a knife, cornered the victim next to a fence and stabbed him.
"His actions inflicted serious injuries and the outcome could have been even more grave without the efforts of emergency responders and hospital staff.
"Jones could quite easily have been in court today to be sentenced for killing a man."
