Police are at Victoria Parade after a suspicious object was found

A number of homes and businesses in north Belfast have been evacuated as a security alert remains ongoing.

Police are in attendance at Victoria Parade after a suspicious object was discovered in the area on Friday morning, and a public safety operation is in place.

North Queen Street is closed, and cordons are in place at the junctions of the New Lodge Road and Henry Street.

Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
