Man in his 70s dies in city house blaze

A man has died after a house fire broke out in Norwich.

Emergency services were called to Spynke Road, off Aylsham Road, just before 13:30 GMT on Thursday.

A Norfolk Police spokesperson said a man in his 70s, who was in the house, died at the scene and the death was not currently being treated as suspicious.

A police cordon has been put in place around the property while crews carry out an investigation.
