A DIY store has closed temporarily after a group of travellers illegally moved onto the site's car park.

Avon and Somerset Police were alerted to the unauthorised encampment in the car park of B&Q on Lysander Road in Patchway, near Bristol, at about 21:30 BST on Tuesday.

Officers attended and spoke with store staff and some of the people in the caravans, and bailiffs for the landowner have served notice for them to leave. Police said they are maintaining contact with the store and the encampment.

B&Q has been approached for comment.
