Person rescued from car stuck in flood water
- Published
A person had to be rescued after their car became stuck in flood water.
The driver of the Nissan was attempting to go through water at Welney Wash, on the Norfolk-Cambridgeshire border, when the incident happened on Wednesday night.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said it sent crews from Outwell, King's Lynn and Littleport to rescue the driver.
The A1101 regularly floods, and in 2022 a flood barrier was installed by the Environment Agency to prevent water spilling from the reservoir into Welney village.
The fire service said it would be holding a meeting on Monday with "flood alliance partners" to discuss issues around flooding.
