Wolverhampton Wanderers will open a one-off pop-up shop in the city centre at the weekend.

The Premier League club said they will take over the former Footasylum unit in the Mander Centre between 10:00 and 18:00 BST on Saturday and Sunday.

The store will use AI technology by Amazon to automatically detect what items fans have selected and charge them by their preferred payment method. It eliminates the need for a checkout, although staff will be on hand to assist.

DJs will be playing music with club mascots and special guests in attendance, the club said.

The store will be operated by Levy Merchandising, who the club work with for catering and hospitality.

Dan McGinley, head of operations at the company, said using the technology offered "a modern retail experience".

"We are constantly looking for ways to enhance how supporters engage with the club, and partnering with Amazon to bring their Just Walk Out technology to a Premier League retail environment for the first time is incredibly exciting.

"It's all about speed, convenience and delivering a modern retail experience that meets the high expectations of fans."
