Burst pipe causing water problems for residents

Thames Water said tankers were being used to reduce disruption to properties

Some properties are experiencing reduced water flow as engineers work to repair a burst water pipe.
Thames Water have been working to repair the pipe, which is located between The Croft and Wichelstowe in Swindon, since Sunday evening, with those in the SN1, SN3 and SN4 postcodes affected.
The water supplier said they were waiting on an ecologist to attend and assess the area, due to potential reports of crested newts, which are a protected species, living in the area.
It also said tankers being used and it was adjusting their network to bring water from other areas to reduce disruption.
"You may see lower pressure than normal during peak usage times and we apologise for this inconvenience to your morning," a spokesperson for Thames Water said.
"We know how inconvenient it is if you lose your water supply, so we'll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can."
