Firefighters tackle countryside blaze

Smoke can be seen billowing from the wildfire in West Yorkshire
- Published
Firefighters have spent most of the day tackling a wildfire.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called just before 10:00 BST to a blaze in the Cold Edge Road area of Halifax.
At its height, there were nine fire engines in attendance and the service urged people living nearby to keep their windows and doors closed.
The service added that specialist wildfire equipment was used and that some crews were still at the scene.
