Soapbox race expected to boost charity funds

A soapbox race that has attracted thousands of visitors to towns and cities across the UK is set to visit Crewe next year.
Charity event Krazy Races launched in Shrewsbury in 2019, raising £20,000 for good causes.
It returns to the Shropshire town in May 2024, but will also visit Crewe on 14 July.
The free-to-attend event will see teams compete in handmade karts, tackling a course featuring chicanes and obstacles.
It is being supported by Crewe Town Council, which said it was great news for the area.
The event is organised by Sarah Belcher Events.
Danny Scoffin, from the firm, said: "As a company, we are thrilled to be bringing Krazy Races to Crewe next year. I live in Crewe, so for me Crewe Krazy Races will be very special."
Organisers are currently looking for 20-40 teams to take part, with both teams and spectators encouraged to raise money for charity.
Krazy Races events welcomed more than 150,000 visitors and raised over £100,000 for local charities in 2023 with events across the country.
