Man dies after crashing into central reservation

A man has died after the Mercedes he was driving crashed into a central reservation of a major road.

The crash happened on Saturday, at 10:30 BST, when the 46-year-old joined the A5 southbound in Milton Keynes, from the A509 Portway.

The car came to a stop on the opposite carriageway and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Thames Valley Police appealed for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.

Investigating officer, PC Amy Harnett, said: “The thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police are with their family at this extremely upsetting time.

“At this time this collision is not being treated as suspicious but I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward and assist us with our enquiries.”
