Two buildings have been evacuated in Jersey after reports of a gas leak, firefighters have said.

Jersey Fire and Rescue said part of La Grande Route de Trinité, north of St Helier, was shut.

Firefighters said honorary police were redirecting traffic between La Rue de Mon Sejour, south of the Sir Francis Cook Gallery, and Rue de la Godillerie at the Lyndale Sports turning.

Some residents in the area had been advised to stay indoors and close their windows, while everyone else was asked to avoid the area, the fire service said.
