A driver has been seriously injured following a crash between a car and a double-decker bus.

Police were called to Clarence Road in Wroxall on the Isle of Wight just after 00:00 BST.

Officers said a blue Ford Focus had collided with a Southern Vectis bus.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s from Ventnor, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it was appealing for witnesses and any dash cam footage.

It is urging two bus passengers, who left the scene without leaving any details, to get in touch.
