A drug and alcohol support service in Bradford has been rated "outstanding" by the care watchdog.

New Vision Bradford received the highest rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its first ever inspection in July.

The CQC's deputy director of operations in the north, Linda Hirst, said inspectors found "a service providing exemplary care which gave people the best support and treatment".

"This recognition reflects the compassion, dedication and professionalism of our team - and the trust placed in us by the people we support," said New Vision Bradford's assistant director Becky Norton.

The CQC rated New Vision, which was registered in 2023, as outstanding for being well-led and caring, and good for being responsive, safe and effective.

"An outstanding rating for being well-led and caring is testament to our commitment to delivering person-centred, empowering support that truly makes a difference," said Ms Norton.

"We remain committed to continuous improvement and to ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, supported, and inspired on their journey to recovery."

Feedback from people who used the service was described as "overwhelmingly positive" by inspectors.

Their report said: "Clients told us they were grateful for the care and treatment they received, describing the service as a 'lifesaver'.

"One client told us 'I don't know where I'd be without coming here'."

Ms Hirst added: "Kind and caring staff went above and beyond to enable people to feel fully supported on their roads to recovery."

"People were overwhelmingly positive about the service, describing wonderful staff going out of their way to change their lives for the better."
