Dozens of escaped chickens forced the partial closure of a busy trunk road in central Scotland.
The birds spilled onto the carriageway after their trailer overturned on the A9 near Dunblane, forcing police to shut the northbound carriageway, at around lunchtime on Thursday.
Emergency services controlled traffic at Balhaldie while attempts were made to recapture the chickens and put them back into their plastic crates.
Traffic Scotland also reported "long queues" in the southbound lane with drivers facing delays of up to 25 minutes.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with, and the road reopened four hours later.
An eyewitness said: "The trailer of the SUV which overturned was full of chickens.
"There are now loads of police here and traffic is at a standstill.
"There could be around 100 chickens on the road.
"I have never seen anything like it."

Emergency services rounded up the birds and the road reopened four hours later
