A paedophile has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two young children.

David Kuca, from Didcot, was convicted of three counts of indecent assault on a girl and two counts of sexual assault of a child at a trial earlier this year.

During the same trial at Oxford Crown Court in May he was also found guilty on one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act and two counts of making indecent photographs of children.

At a sentencing hearing on Tuesday, the 80-year-old was given a 12 year sentence comprising of 11 years in jail with a one year extension on licence.

Kuca was also served with a 15 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and an indefinite restraining order in relation to his two victims.

At his trial earlier this year, the jury heard Kuca had sexually abused two young children in south Oxfordshire on numerous occasions between 1995 and 2001 and 2013 and 2017.

Kuca was arrested in December 2022 when indecent images of children were found on computers which has been seized from him, the court was told.

He was charged with numerous child sex offences in March 2024, following a police investigation.

Thames Valley Police investigating officer, Det Const Sophie Holliss, said she sincerely hoped Kuca's sentencing brought some closure to his victims.

She thanked both for their "immense bravery, not only in coming forward to report what happened but also throughout the court process".

"Nothing can change what they have been through, but I hope that the victims in this case are now able to begin moving forward with their lives and heal from what has happened," she said.
