Firefighters remain at a cargo ship in Southampton after a fire broke out in a pile of scrap metal stored in its hold.

More than 40 firefighters were called to the ship berthed in the city's docks on Friday after the fire broke out at about 18:00 BST.

Crews at The Hong Kong-registered bulk carrier, Qing Hua Shan have since been scaled down. They are expected to remain on site into Sunday as a precaution, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service says.

All crew members from the ship have been accounted for and no injuries were reported, a fire service spokesperson said.
