Man dies after being hit by lorry on main road

A man in his 70s has died after he was struck by an HGV on a main road in Herefordshire.

The crash happened on Saturday on the A49 between the turning for the A466 and the turning for Callow, West Mercia Police said.

Emergency services were called to the collision around 07:30 BST, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or has information that could help establish what happened.
