A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a disturbance at a house in East Ayrshire.

Armed police were called to a house in Cross Street, Galston, at about 08:05 on Saturday after a 55-year-old man was found injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland said the suspect was arrested after a subsequent disturbance at the property.

The man is due to appear before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court later.
