The death of a man found in a car park in Nottingham is being treated as unexplained, police have said.

Nottinghamshire Police said emergency services were called to a residential car park in Moffat Close, St Ann's, at about 01:40 GMT on Friday.

The force said an investigation had been launched into how the man died.

A cordon remains in place and residents have been told there will be an increased police presence while investigations continue.

Det Insp Clare Gibson said: "An investigation is currently under way after a man's body was found in a residential car park. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place. Our thoughts are with this man's family and we'd ask people not to speculate while we ascertain what has happened."
