Plans to build 1,500 homes in a Shropshire village have been submitted to planners.

The proposal would see a new estate built on about 112 hectares (277 acres) of land in Tasley, near Bridgnorth.

The number is 450 more than what was included in previous plans unveiled by the developers Taylor Wimpey and Bloor Homes, in July.

The application asks Shropshire Council for a "scoping opinion" to support outline planning permission.

The development would also include 14.6 hectares of employment land, a specialist living centre for elderly people, a nursery, a primary school and retail units.

This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
