A man has died after losing control of his electric bike in Todmorden on Sunday.

The cyclist, 34, was riding a black Beatbike Toba electric pedal cycle downhill along Bacup Road towards Clough Foot at about 18:20 BST, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers said he lost control and suffered a serious head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to contact West Yorkshire Police.

The force has also appealed for anyone with any footage which may help the investigation to get in touch.
