A "savage" man who sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl in hotels has been jailed.
Alexander Olas, 23, met the teenager through social media in August 2022 before taking her to hotels in Scunthorpe over a number of months.
On 7 November, he was sentenced to six years and four months in prison at Grimsby Crown Court after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child, actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and witness intimidation.
After the hearing, Det Sgt Tony Wilkinson said Olas "not only took advantage of a vulnerable 15-year-old girl" but also "threatened and assaulted her if she refused to give him what he wanted".
Olas, formerly from Doncaster, originally denied the charges but later changed his pleas.
An investigation into Olas' actions was launched after police received a call from a concerned parent in September 2022 reporting that her 15-year-old daughter had been taken to a hotel in Scunthorpe by an older man.
The digital forensics unit went on to discover extensive messages sent across multiple social media platforms between him and the girl whom he knew was a teenager.
Police said Olas booked the rooms under false names in an effort to conceal his identity.
Det Sgt Wilkinson said: "Whilst the result in court will not take away the trauma she [the victim] undoubtedly continues to endure, I am pleased that he is behind bars where he belongs."
Olas was also made the subject of a 15-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
